Welcome to Hell
This photo is actually not from Trondheim, but is taken in a small place called Hell. Hell is a small densely populated area in Stjørdal, about 30 km (19 miles) north of Trondheim, with about 350 inhabitants. This area has become a popular attraction for foreign tourists because of its name, and tourists often stop by the train station in Hell to photograph the sign you see in my photo. The text on the sign; "GODS-EXPEDITION" is the old Norwegian spelling for "Godsstasjon", meaning Goods office, or freight office. The name Hell comes from the old Norwegian word "hellir", meaning "overhang" or "cliff cave".
Later this year, in June, the 15th annual Hell Music Festival (Previously called Hell Blues Festival) will be held at the Rica Hell Hotel, with performances from Madrugada, Buddy Guy and Eric Andersen (more bands to be announced).

Ha! Funny picture! That music festival sounds like everything but hell! Will you be going?

I'll definately be at the festival this summer, with my camera of course, taking pictures for my blog. I have actually never been there before, so I am really looking forward it.
But before I'm going to Hell, I'll be at the Latin Festival 2006 here in Trondheim next weekend, and in Denmark in March to see "The Killer" himself, Jerry Lee Lewis, live for the first time.
I wish I could go to hell.
Oh well, I'll go to hell one way or another... ;-)
Sounds like some fun festivals around Alexander!

That's too funny! I never thought there would actually be a physical address for hell! See ya in Hell!
Very nice to see a picture from Hell. I lived there for 9 years! More Heaven then Hell those years.
